ABOUT US
Since 2016, I have been blessed to offer exclusive farm-to-table tours of the Lynch family's farm, Ireland’s premier water buffalo farm and cheese-making enterprise.
I strive to create unique, fun, and tasty experiences in this region of South West Ireland, known as Gaeltacht Mhúscraí. Sharing our local heritage and culture is something I truly love, as I grew up just over the road from the farm.
I was born into the family of John and Lily O'Sullivan in Inchigeelagh. Our descendants hailed from Tír na Spideoga in the Iveleary parish, the villages of Inchigeela and Castlemagner, and Gortnakilla Pier on Sheep's Head, south of Bantry town.
My parents were the second O'Sullivan generation to manage the Lake Hotel Inchigeela, which was built in 1810. They had a large family of eleven children. You could say I was born into the hotel, catering, and tourism industry. As children, we spent a lot of time in the kitchen, and my dad would often say, "Go out to the hotel reception and meet the people."
Like many chefs, I achieved a personal goal of successfully owning and running my own restaurant for many years in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Cooking and preparing simply delicious food using the very best local ingredients is a cause very close to my heart.
Other important things in my life are my family of four, my home place, buffalo farming, animal welfare, food service, music, and meeting new people every day.
I hope to meet you on the farm someday!
Slán go fóill / Bye for now,
Dorothy
